VersaTech has an opening for a High Voltage Maintenance Electrician to work a rotational schedule in Equatorial Guinea. The schedule is temporarily set to a longer schedule due to COVID and quarantine restrictions.

The current schedule is 2 weeks of quarantine in EG, 8 weeks offshore and 5 weeks home. The schedule is fluid and can change based on Covid changes and customer policy.

Eventually, it will be 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The essential duties of this position include but are not limited to :

  • Demonstrates strong safety culture through personal behavior and commitment to environmental, health & safety; Adhere to and carry out all company environmental rules, polices, standards & procedures.
  • Reports injuries, incidents and hazards to unit supervision as soon as reasonably possible.
  • Conducts tasks with appropriate PPE as assigned.
  • Responsible for personal safety and that of fellow employees.
  • Provide attention to detail and dedication to work in order to ensure reliability of the work site as well as high quality product.
  • Use time, company equipment and materials in the best interest of the company.
  • Responsible for accuracy, quality and quantity of work.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of electrical equipment and the associated documentation within assigned area of responsibility and capable of utilizing the following standard reference material :
  • ANSI, NFPA, NETA, American Electricians Handbook, and Standard Handbook for Electrical Engineers.
  • Working knowledge of all the standard electrical test equipment.
  • Should be capable of formulating and acting upon a logical step-by- step troubleshooting procedure.
  • Knowledge of the following : overhead line design, protective relays, construction and maintenance substation and switchyard equipment and hardware;

emergency generator system operations.

  • Basic understanding of the power distribution system. Must have the proven ability to read, interpret basic electrical drawings, maintain, and initiate required revisions to documentation.
  • Support the continuous operation of the plant by being available outside of regular scheduled work hours.
  • Troubleshoot Switchgear and breaker operation
  • Experience with Offshore Oil and Gas Facilities including Electrical Systems
