KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Responsible for the development and implementation of laboratory policies, processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and safety in all laboratory operations
Manage the daily operations of the laboratory to ensure that tests are performed accurately and efficiently in conformance with established methods, instructions and quality standards, and results are reported in a timely manner as per Company and customer requirements
Provide inputs on laboratory capabilities to assist regional management in creating local / regional marketing and business development strategies
Responsible for reviewing and monitoring the financial performance (., P&L of the laboratory as per Company frameworks and procedures
Continuously seek opportunities to enhance laboratory capabilities and capacity with a view of continual improvement and present relative strategies to regional management
Keep abreast of industry best practices in respect to robotic laboratory automations and process industrialization to drive efficiencies in laboratory practices
Participate in the development of quotations, bids and technical evaluation to support the tendering and procurement process
Oversee laboratory stock requirements ensuring the suitability and availability of equipment, consumables, stock levels, change of supplier or particular resources for the lab
Develop and implement plans for increasing income and / or reduce costs to support the achievement of business objectives
Lead the laboratory team and provide technical support in data analysis and reporting whilst ensuring compliance with quality standards
Responsible for planning preventive and scheduled maintenance and ensuring any service requests are completed as per operational requirements
Provides guidance and assistance to the laboratory team concerning work methods, the use of equipment and techniques including method development and validation, uncertainty of measurements, and participate in proficiency testing programmes (PTP)
Review and resolve performance, process, quality and technical related issues arising within the laboratory and implement preventive actions as and when required, and raise unresolved concerns to relevant stakeholders for resolution
Ensure compliance with all relevant (internal and external) regulations including QHSSE requirements using company policies and procedures as appropriate
Coach, lead and manage the performance of team members by helping them overcome professional challenges in order to accomplish their responsibilities in an accurate and efficient manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :
Bachelors’ degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Food Technology, Agricultural Sciences, Molecular Biology, Environmental Sciences, Petroleum Sciences / Engineering, or a relevant discipline
Degree requirements may vary depending on the laboratory scope
Minimum of 12 (twelve) years of relevant experience
Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 10 (ten) years’ experience will be considered for this role.
Fluent english spoken and written.
