Position Summary

Supervise Inspection and NDT personnel and activities for scopes covering condition monitoring of pipes, structures, vessels, tanks, raisers, etc. during routine condition monitoring tasks as defined by RBI plan, planned and unplanned outages, turnaround events and any other COMPANY activity requiring inspection or NDT services as defined by FEI TL.

Duties And Responsibilities

Functions

ESSENTIAL

On-site focal point between Oceaneering and client project team ensuring the planning, scheduling, inspection, and safety contractual deliverables are met.

Respond to all queries, concerns complaints and requests both from Oceaneering project team and client on-site.

Supervise and lead Inspection & NDT personnel to ensure operational efficiency and observation of appropriate standards of safety and quality control in all activities.

Ensure that the inspection and NDT equipment are correctly maintained, and certifications are kept up to date.

Assist with inspection activities and reporting during periods of high activity, including but not limited to Turnarounds, break-in and emergency work.

Liaise with Client to identify the need for additional resources, campaign teams or sub-contractors in advance.

Support delivery of Client's Risk Based Inspection work, planned work and break-in work

Share new information with personnel (safety bulletins etc.) and lead by example.

Complete and submit weekly and monthly timesheets / client work sheets / Logbooks and monthly expense maps to Luanda ops support team.

Carry out periodic quality and safety audits as required.

Mentor and coach nationals, supervise new or trainee technicians while carrying out site work activities.

Book and organize inductions for newcomers and personnel.

Ensure quality standards are maintained so that quality of service meets the necessary standards.

Ensure all inspection and NDT activities and equipment comply with Oceaneering & Company procedures.

Ensure all mandatory on-site team assigned training modules are completed within a timely manner.

Ensure all work is executed in accordance with Oceaneering Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.

Support the Project Manager (PM) in delivery of Oceaneering work scope as defined in the contract.

Functionally report to Project Manager for the provision and co-ordination of all Inspection and NDT Services in the contract.

Supervise Oceaneering call-out personnel and equipment and third parties’ campaigns whilst On-site.

Ensure the third-party contractor understands the work scope associated risks and the work is completed and reported as specified in the work scope.

Carry out briefings / Toolbox Talks to all Inspection and NDT Personnel

Ensure inspection reports are issued on approved forms / templates for items inspected.

Review and where applicable sign acceptance of inspection reports completed by NDT technicians or Third parties.

Assess defects or anomalies found, ensuring use of the Oceaneering or client anomaly process e.g., IQRO procedure.

Attend meetings and reviews as appropriate e.g., Shutdown, IQRO, task planning, safety, and hazard risk assessment etc.

Maintain assigned Logs or Registers up-to-date and in accordance with Oceaneering / client procedures.

Issue status reports as required e.g., daily / weekly / handover, etc.

Participate in RBI reviews to assist in the development of inspection programmes.

Develop detailed plans, programmes and works copes for annual corrosion and integrity monitoring etc.

Assist on the planning and mobilisation requirements such as technical briefings, work packs and logistics (e.g. accommodations, flights and equipment associated with site work).

Support Project Manager in issuing of reports for performance management or integrity data e.g. overdue reports, KPIs, etc.

Actively participate in ops meeting to review ongoing performance and highlight areas of concern that require the client / Oceaneering support.

Ensure that accurate, adequate, and timely information is provided to the Oceaneering Project Manager to administer and run payrolls for the project.

Complete and verify as correct all timesheets, and billings to the work prior to forwarding to the Project Manager for approval and processing.

Submit daily activity report on a format agreed and approved by the COMPANY Representative

NON-ESSENTIAL

  • Assist with any other duties as and when required.
  • Undertake specific projects as instructed by management.
  • The list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake tasks that may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post

Safety

Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable to ensure a safe working environment.

Actively participate in safety Tool and toolbox talks as required by company and client.

Ensure that all procedures are always adhered to and that required documentation is kept updated.

Other

Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.

Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.

Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities. You will be expected to lead, supervisor and coordinate Inspection activities. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work. Ensuring compliance with all HSE requirements and supporting Management for all Inspection related activities.

Reports to Project Manager

Qualifications

REQUIRED

Must hold valid API 510, API 570, and API 653 Certifications.

Must hold valid CSWIP 3.2 or CWI Weld Inspector Certification.

Knowledge of Corrosion mechanisms such as SCC, NH4HS, CUI, fatigue, etc.

Demonstrated experience on piping and pressure vessels inspection and repair procedures.

Valid OGUK medical and BOER

Confined Space Entry training

DESIRED

PCN / CSWIP / ASNT - ET - level 2 - Eddy Current Testing.

PCN / CSWIP / ASNT - RT - level 2 - Radiographic Testing. (Conventional, Digital, Real Time)

PCN / CSWIP / ASNT - UT - level 2 - Ultrasonic Testing.

PCN / CSWIP / ASNT - MT - level 2 - Magnetic Particle Testing.

PCN / CSWIP / ASNT - PT - level 2 - Dye / Liquid Penetrant Testing.

Radiographic Interpretation and UT TKY are a plus.

IRATA Level 1 – Rope Access

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Fluent in English reading, writing.

Ten (10) years minimum Inspection experience in the Upstream Oil and Gas industry.

5 Years minimum Inspection supervisory experience of a small to medium team

Demonstrated experience on piping and pressure vessels inspection and repair procedures.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings.

Fundamental written and verbal communication skills.

Basic understanding of corrosion mechanisms and monitoring.

Basic knowledge of metallurgy.

Familiar with QA / QC systems / procedures and NDT techniques.

Previous experience of coaching and mentoring.

Working knowledge of Microsoft office suits.

Gives and receives constructive feedback while coaching and mentoring activities.

Ensures that regular consistent communication takes place within the work group.

Working Conditions

This position is considered ONSHORE which is characterized as follows :

Requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions.

Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over / near water

Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment

Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels

Potential exposure to open fire / flames / sparks.

Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
