The Role

In this role you will be contributing to the maintenance of Waverley’s health and environment by ensuring residents and businesses can dispose of their waste in an environmentally sustainable manner. Your duties will include the collection of domestic and commercial waste, recycling bins, hard waste, illegal dumps and green waste. You will also be responsible for the operation of plant and equipment associated with waste collection.

About You

  • NSW School Certificate or equivalent.
  • Have and continue to hold a minimum of a Class C Drivers Licence and be able to obtain a Heavy Rigid (HR) Drivers Licence within 3 months of employment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and prepared to work outside of normal hours, public holidays, and available for rostered overtime.
  • Proven commitment to continual improvement and teamwork.
  • Can communicate to a level that enables the accurate interpretation of instructions, internal correspondence, and communication with internal and external customers.
  • Proven commitment to quality customer service.
  • Have and maintain a level of physical fitness sufficient to undertake all activities related to waste collection.
  • Commitment to and understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity, Work Health & Safety, Risk Management and Environmental Protection principles with special emphasis on proper and safe manual handling techniques.
