Role Definition
The Operation Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Project Operation Team on the various execution sites involved in Project activities. He is following the preparation of the equipment and materials to be sent offshore, in line with project and installation teams requirements and procedures. This includes equipment checks, rigging preparation, structures dressing prior loadouts, assistance to Site Integration Tests and general interface with local subcontractors and Fabrication Yard / Logistic Base. On behalf of Operation Department, he can also support other task given by other project departments, to secure and de-risk the project execution whenever required.
All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.
This will include, but not be limited to :
- Actively reporting all undesired events and safety observations using the Safety Observation system and Undesired Events Report system.
- Actively reporting non-conformances using the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) system.
- Actively reporting and managing any unsafe act, condition or procedure or environmental unsafe acts and conditions to the Chief Officer so that action can be taken to manage or minimise any and all risk.
- Lead by example and adhere to the Intervention program through the intervention card system
All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct
SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Assist the Operation Manager and the Operation Engineers as directedEnsure the project equipment and incorporable items are properly prepared for loadout and deployment offshore, in line with project documents, procedures and specifications.Check equipment to ensure that it is safe to use and correctly set in accordance with checklists provided.Report any defects (or potential defects) in equipment or any doubts about the safety of the operation immediately to the site manager or to the operation engineer in charge.Progress work scope as directed and in accordance with the relevant Task Plans and Approved Procedures.Assist in maintenance and / or repair of support equipment as required.Understand and take proactive participation in project risk assessments.Maintain all projects rigging in useEnsure all certification is maintained and suitable for use by project.Ensure all lifting equipment and rigging is certifiedAssist in launch and recovery of Trencher, PLETs and other project equipment.Responsible for deck safety and personnel involved in deck operations.Delegate riggers to assist in any relevant task associated to preparation and readiness of equipment prior to loadout.Support Logistic and Material Control department for identification and preparation of equipment received / to be shippedQualification
College-level or professional qualification in an appropriate discipline (Rope Access, Diving, Rigging & Lifting, Fabrication, STCW)Valid Coxwain and Rope Access Level 3 qualificationsFluent in English with strong experience in working in Africa regionGood knowledge of modern communication toolsExperience in Oil & Gas Offshore worksValid Rope Access Level3 and Coxwain certificationValid offshore medical suitable for geographical area of work.Valid offshore survival course suitable for geographical area of work.Attendance at PASS school induction and other company familiarisation prior to mobilisation.Conditions
