PSI seeks an experienced Malaria Technical Director to lead the anticipated Malaria strategy and implementation under USAID and PMI funded Project in Angola. The project is expected to continue and expand upon work started under the existing USAID Health For All Project. The Project supports the Angolan Ministry of health : 1) to deliver comprehensive malaria prevention and treatment activities in the malaria high-prevalence regions of Angola, and 2) to expand family planning and reproductive health services with the focus on adolescents.

The Malaria Technical Director will be responsible for leading successful project implementation in the malaria health areas throughout the project lifecycle from start-up to close-out. Accountable for delivery of all aspects of the projects, including strategy development, technical implementation, oversight, and supervision of project staff. Responsible for using evidence to improve project design and implementation. As the leader of an Angola project, liaise with national stakeholders, such as Ministry of Health officials.

Salary Range :

$83,000 (MINIMUM) - $104,000 (MID-POINT) - $125,000 (MAXIMUM)

The annual base salary range reflected above is in USD.

Your contributions

Provides strategic technical direction to Malaria program by coordinating the development of the technical aspects of the program implementation approaches and ensuring appropriate consultations with stakeholders at all levels.

Collaborates with DNSP, NMCP, Malaria Forum, and other stakeholders such as GFATM, UNICEF, WHO, etc. to strengthen quality improvement and supervision systems for malaria interventions. Acts as the main representative of PSI malaria activities on the provincial and municipal levels and in front of provincial and municipal authorities.

Provides or delegates appropriately to members of the program technical team, technical support to all PSI malaria implementing partners to build / strengthen their capacity in Malaria service delivery (prevention and treatment). Contributes to the development of strategies in other health areas, such as Sexual and Reproductive Health, Nutrition, etc.
