SUMMARY :
Responsible for full shift control of process and recovery plant operations, ensuring optimal throughput, quality, safety, and compliance. Leads plant teams, drives production targets, maintains discipline and housekeeping, and ensures efficient diamond recovery through best-practice processing and reporting.
POSITION INFO : Key Responsibilities
Take full control of process and recovery activities during the shift
Manage plant throughput, utilisation, and quality control
Supervise teams, enforce discipline, and ensure effective shift handovers
Interpret plant data and implement process adjustments
Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and operational standards
Drive housekeeping, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
Minimum (Non-Negotiable in practice)
Grade 12 / Matric
10 or more years experience in a processing or recovery plant (diamonds or similar minerals)
5 or more years in a senior supervisory / foreman / shift control role
Proven experience managing plant throughput, recovery efficiency, and quality control
Strong understanding of plant safety, housekeeping, and statutory compliance
Preferred (Big Advantage, Not Always Mandatory)
NQF Level 4–6 in : Mineral Processing
Metallurgy
Engineering Studies
Supervisory or Management training (Shift Boss / Foreman / Leadership programmes)
Exposure to metallurgical test work and process optimisation
Previous remote site / rotational experience (Africa = huge plus)
Standards & Compliance Knowledge
Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) standards in mining operations
Process quality control procedures
Plant reporting, shift handovers, and KPI tracking
Disciplinary procedures and workforce management
Best-practice recovery and processing methodologies
