Duties And Responsibilities
Fixed Term 3 Months - Start Date 25/04/2026
To ensure the quality and integrity of welded joints during turnaround (TAR) activities at an onshore LNG plant by conducting inspections, verifying compliance with welding procedures, and maintaining documentation in accordance with international standards.
Functions
ESSENTIAL
- Monitor fabricators Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities. This includes but is not limited to.
- Review approved Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Review Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)
- Review Welders Performance Qualifications records (WPQ)
- Welding and Fabrication inspection activities. This includes but is not limited to:
- Provide Independent Welding and Fabrication support and advice to the SIE who is representing the Independent Inspection Authority for in-service Pressure Equipment
- Review of Fabrication Inspection and Test Plans and final fabrication pack/GOC
- Visual inspections of weld set up/weld quality, completion of dimensional inspections as required
- Review and endorse NDT reports in a timely manner
- Prescribe and monitor weld repairs to code
- Prior approval and monitoring of all Golden Welds (In consultation with the QA/QC / Site Supervisor)
- Witnessing and approval of testing (Hydro testing)
- Verify the application of NDT methods for inspection activities, inform NDE personnel of requirements. Specify NDE techniques if required
- Carry out the briefing/Toolbox Talks to all visiting Inspection/NDT Personnel provided for specific jobs by the Project Manager/Site Supervisor
- Maintain department logs or registers up-to-date and in accordance with Oceaneering/ client requirements

Qualifications

REQUIRED
- API-570, API-510, API-653, API-936.
- CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification (mandatory).
- NACE CIP Level 2. Welding Inspector or equivalent
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in welding inspection, with at least 2 years in LNG or oil & gas sector.
- Familiarity with ASME, API, and ISO welding standards.
- Experience in turnaround/shutdown projects.
- Confined Space Entry Certificate with practical
- OGUK Medical

- PCN / CSWIP / ASNT - RT - level 2 Radiography Inspection
- PCN / CSWIP / ASNT - VT - level 2 - Visual Inspection.
- HNC in Fabrication and Welding or related discipline
