PLC Programmer/Designer (TX, Midland)

VersaTech offers Automation services to the oil and gas market including construction, maintenance, commissioning and loop checking.? VersaTech has offices in Houston, Midland, New Orleans, and Africa.? Our scope of work includes both onshore and offshore projects in the US and overseas.

VersaTech has an opening for a PLC Programmer to support our Permian Operations. VersaTech has Integration Facilities in Midland and Houston and would prefer to have a person based in Midland.?

Primary Responsibilities:

• Programming of PLC, DCS, and HMI systems using a variety of industry & manufacturers standard.
• Commissioning and Troubleshooting of various Control System issues at remote customer sites in the Permian.
• Programming Panels for other projects outside of the Permian as time schedules allow
• Assist Customers with installation of Automation devices such as control panels and instrumentation.
• Provide Technical Support and Guidance to clients in order to suggest improved designs
• Ensure that the required Project Documentation is completed and delivered in a timely manner
• Extensive interface with customers, procurement personnel, salesman and management
• Participate in sales calls with Business Development Manager to help develop new accounts when needed

Job requirements:

• Proficient with AB Rockwell, GE, Modicon, and Siemens programming software such as RSLogic 5000, Factory Talk Studio, Step7, WinCC, and Wonderware Intouch
• Execute PLC Code based on drawings, specifications, and customer input
• Minimum of 5 years experience programming PLC Systems for the Oil and Gas Industry
• Familiarity with typical Shale Market applications including but not limited to the types of Equipment and Controls on Wellpad Sites, Central Tank Batteries, Compressor Stations, Salt Water Disposal Sites, Central Processing Facilities, and other Oil Field Sites
• Knowledge of RTUs. Understanding of digital and analog I/O, programming, and troubleshooting
• Ability to travel and work in the field on remote sites in the Permian
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
• Ability to work with Customers, Managers, Supervisors, and Technicians to Safely complete projects within the time and budget constraints.
• Must have a valid driver?s license and clean driving record
